Gaictech® The Canning Machinery Company is a company specialised in the manufacture of machinery for the canned and frozen food industry, with a particular focus on pelagic fish, tuna, and molluscs.

It is positioned as a global benchmark in the manufacture of customised equipment, as well as the design and commissioning of “custom-made” production lines. Gaictech is especially recognised for its continuous adaptation of products to each client’s specific needs, providing fast and precise responses to project requirements worldwide.

Tools implementation

After evaluating different tools, it was decided to implement SOLIDWORKS solutions for both mechanical and electrical design, ensuring proper integration between both disciplines.

Once SOLIDWORKS was implemented, recurring errors when adapting each product to customer requirements were significantly reduced. By eliminating associated costs, a much more rigorous control of bills of materials is now in place, while also optimising material usage and prototype manufacturing.

Improve workflow processes

One of our key objectives with every client is to ensure their productivity is as efficient as possible, both in terms of time and development.

• By automating the generation of parametric designs through form-based tools, they have been able to reuse existing designs continuously, significantly reducing design times.
• Parametrisation of two conveyor belt product models using DriveWorks, a tool that automates parts of the design process. This enabled them to reduce modelling and drafting time from two weeks to just three days.
