During the design and production process, various complications can arise that lead to more hours being spent than initially planned on a specific task, causing projects to extend beyond expectations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"404\" data-end=\"606\">In some cases, <strong>producing manufacturing drawings can become a slow and cumbersome process<\/strong>, involving repetitive tasks for engineers, as certain designs require manually placing each component one by one. In these situations, the ideal approach is to<strong> rely on tools or applications that streamline the entire development process, thereby optimising resources and improving efficiency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"1089\">Throughout our experience, we have worked on multiple cases where the challenge was <strong>to reduce the time required to generate 3D models and manufacturing drawings<\/strong>. One of these <a href=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/en\/gri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">success stories is GRI \u2013 Gestamp Renewable Industries<\/a>, which aimed to accelerate <strong>the 3D design process of wind turbine towers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1wesalz\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"33\">What problems did we identify?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"35\" data-end=\"171\">In this specific case with <strong>GRI \u2013 Gestamp Renewable<\/strong>, following a detailed analysis of their workflow, <strong>we identified the following issues<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"173\" data-end=\"553\">\n<li data-section-id=\"9izgs2\" data-start=\"173\" data-end=\"284\"><strong>Manufacturing documentation was incomplete<\/strong> due to tight deadlines, which prevented full 3D model generation<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"djvdxu\" data-start=\"285\" data-end=\"369\"><strong>Model data was not connected to the rest of the required technical documentation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"wgr6gk\" data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"430\">The existing <strong>application was limited<\/strong> and prone to errors<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"osu9pw\" data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"553\">Weldable components had to be placed one by one, which required excessive effort and was therefore often not completed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4477 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/procesos-torres.jpg\" alt=\"Proceso Gri\" width=\"970\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/procesos-torres.jpg 970w, https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/procesos-torres-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/procesos-torres-768x412.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1gs9t67\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"23\">How did we solve it?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"25\" data-end=\"149\">The first step was the implementation of an automated wind turbine tower design process. How? By using <a href=\"https:\/\/formacion.easyworks.es\/courses\/driveworksxpress-basico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-start=\"128\" data-end=\"148\">DriveWorksXpress<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"151\" data-end=\"471\">DriveWorksXpress <strong>is a simplified version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/easyworks.es\/driveworks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DriveWorks<\/a><\/strong> solution that enables design automation based on predefined parameters. Through a form-based interface,<strong> the tool automatically generates part designs or components that are largely similar, with variations in key parameters such as height, thickness, or length<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"473\" data-end=\"607\">Thanks to this approach, we were able to automatically generate 3D designs, assemblies, parts, and drawings from predefined templates.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"961\">In addition, <strong>we automated the insertion of weldable components into the models, a task that previously had to be performed manually<\/strong>. We developed an application that places pre-designed components into the assembly. By providing the element to be inserted along with its coordinates, the system automatically positions each component within the design.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"963\" data-end=\"1133\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Alongside this, we also created a tool to export 3D model property data into a file, enabling better control and validation of the information used in the design process.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4478 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Insertar_soldaduras-min.png\" alt=\"proceso trabajo \" width=\"874\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Insertar_soldaduras-min.png 874w, https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Insertar_soldaduras-min-300x162.png 300w, https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Insertar_soldaduras-min-768x414.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 874px) 100vw, 874px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4480 \" src=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Formulario_easyworks_para_gri-min.png\" alt=\"Formulario para Gri\" width=\"944\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Formulario_easyworks_para_gri-min.png 663w, https:\/\/servicios.easyworks.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Formulario_easyworks_para_gri-min-300x168.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 944px) 100vw, 944px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>What did we achieve?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"91\">Following the implementation of the above measures, we achieved the following improvements:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"93\" data-end=\"495\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1c1pc8j\" data-start=\"93\" data-end=\"285\">Reduced the time required to generate 3D models and manufacturing drawings for wind turbine towers, leading to better resource optimisation and a clear competitive advantage for the client<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1mq39bk\" data-start=\"286\" data-end=\"369\">Complete generation of the 3D model, including all internal weldable components<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1oowpq4\" data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"420\">Reduction of errors during project preparation<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"w0edni\" data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"495\">Elimination of manual data entry in associated technical documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"630\">Undoubtedly, this solution allowed us to address the challenges faced by the client and make this project a success for both parties.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"671\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Thank you to GRI for their trust in us.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Optimising time is critical in industrial design.
