Client: Nauteka (Carpinter\u00eda Amoedo, S.L.)<\/a><\/strong><\/b>
\nChallenge: <\/b>Carry out the modelling and drafting of furniture for the different rooms for the outfitting of two vessels. In the first case, on-site measurements were taken to obtain the limiting dimensions of the spaces or other graphical documentation, and in the second case, it was based on a point cloud due to the difficulty of taking on-site measurements because of the vessel\u2019s location.
\nServices: <\/b>Detailed engineering services with 3D modelling of the vessel spaces to carry out the modelling of furniture, breakdowns and manufacturing and assembly drawings<\/strong>, including bills of materials and cutting lists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In both projects, similar documentation was received from the client. In both cases, a DWG drawing from the designer defining the layout and shape of the furniture designs was provided. In one project, on-site measurements<\/strong> had to be taken as vessel outfitting progressed, while in the other project, we received point clouds<\/strong> to process in our office and work with them.<\/p>\n

What was the process we followed?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting from the designer\u2019s drawings, all furniture was modelled in 3D and the 3D files were sent to the client for validation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once validated, manufacturing and assembly drawings were generated with the necessary views and annotations of the designs, including material and cutting lists, which support fabrication in the workshop and also on board the vessel.<\/p>\n

To meet the tight project deadlines, we used a product data management and collaboration solution, SOLIDWORKS PDM<\/a>, as well as different applications developed by us to generate documentation more efficiently and meet client requirements.<\/p>\n

In addition, 3D-based client review significantly accelerated the validation and interpretation process<\/strong> of the models.<\/p>\n
